Preached at Island Community Church on Sept. 28th. What characterized the days of Noah? A people preoccupied with worldly things, and oblivious to spiritual things. Join us today as we continue our study in Matthew Chapter 24. 37 "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

The answer and solution to being lukewarm, and going through your life half hearted, is to "be zealous and repent." That is, have a little gusto in your service to God! Some people are fervent over the favorite football team. The Lord Jesus is saying, "Be fervent in your service to Me!" And for all who overcome, you will sit with the Lord Jesus, on His throne!

Another word for lukewarm is half heartedness. The Church at Laodicea was deceived into thinking that they were ok, when in fact, they were lukewarm. If the Lord Jesus was to examine your service, what would He find? Join us today for the WGOD Radio broadcast! "Scrutinize yourselves as to whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed you are reprobates?" (2 Cor 13:5) |

The best definition I've heard of Lukewarm is "to be the same temperature as your surroundings." Which really means "Worldliness." "Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 Because everything that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and its lust; but he who does the will of God abides forever." (1 John 2:15-17) |
