Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith. Also, verse 30: 30 since there is one God who will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith. What did paul mean by that? |

"So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for Him shall He appear the second time without sin unto salvation." I love the way the King James Version reads here in Hebrews 9:28. But is it accurate? Here's a few definitions of the Greek word apekdechomai: "To expect, to look for, to wait for with patience and confident expectancy." What the text is saying, is that those who are looking for Him won't miss His return; because the person who misses His return, and is not ready for it, will suffer the same fate as the 5 virgins in Matthew 25, which also were not prepared. Are you looking for His return? "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man." (Luke 21:36) Gaining entrance into the Kingdom of God requires a vigilant perseverance, and abiding in Christ. (Luke 13:24--STRIVE to enter into the narrow gate.)

Notice please this fascinating coincidence (if you believe in them--I don't) Also, Revelation 11:6 (6) These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire. Also, James 5:17
Interesting, isn't it? The thing to remember the most, is that once these 2 men appear, it will NOT rain on the earth for 3 1/2 years! And I also believe that Elijah is going to be one of these mysterious "witnesses"

Today we look at God, who is both "Just," and the "Justifier" of those who put their faith in Jesus Christ. It's a great word picture--"just" being the adjective, describing the attribute, and "justifier" being the action verb. "...Whom God set forth as a propitiation through faith in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness through the passing over of the sins having previously committed, in the forbearance of God, (Rom 3:25) |
